OH.MY. GOOOOOOOSH!!!
THIS.
THIS MUSICAL INTERLUDE. THAT'S WHERE I GOT IT FROM.
Some of you may have noticed that every now and then, I post a link to some awesome sort of music with the title "And now, a Musical Interlude" And when I first posted that, I said that none of you would get the reference. (And no one did) I wanted to supply the reference, but could not.
Here it is. That's a big part of my childhood, right there. And that was one of my favourite episodes. (My all-time favourite being the Relax-O-Vision episode.)
So yes, happy tiems. :D

Just in case anyone might be fooled into thinking..
..That I've been really productive while I've been sick, while I did do some work, I also have been watching videos like This One over and over and over again.
It's like Snuppie- You remember? Snuppie, de Kleine Krokadil?

THE FLU.
I have it. It great how, less than three days after I get over a very severe allergy attack, I thn go on to get the flu.
Anyway, I did finally find a video of This Thing, which I actually kind of like and have liked since I first saw it. Now,that doesn't make it any less silly-sounding. I just think that some of the harmonies are rather nice.

LOL.
Some people have gotten here, on this blog with the keyword "catholic is mma a sin".
LOL, I'M LIKE AN UBER MMA FAN LOL FOR TEH IRONY.
Speaking of which, I kind of like the thread on The Ship where those condescending people talked down about MMA and the people who support it, with all the usual redneck/low-class/violent type/non-christian insults that you'd expect. Personally, I can't see why anyone would think that there's anything morally wrong with Mixed Martial Arts. Yes, it can be violent. So's boxing. So's most other contact sports. I'd wager you're less likely to get a career or life ending injury in the most uncomfortable and painful takedown than in a football game.

And now,
A musical interlude.
Okay, so not really, but I kind of like listening to the soundtrack of that video, the original video, and all related parodies thereof.
What? Is that weird for some reason? I don't think so.

This is unforgiveable.
This.
Geno's?
Genos?!
Where's the neighborhood pride? Jim's is much better, besides being a little cheaper.I think that Geno's is greasy, and the roll gets soggy. Also, the three times that I went, the onions were burnt. This is all besides the owner's, um...less than savoury character. Yeah, I'll put it that way.
Blah, I'll make reparation for them though. Friday isn't a day of fast or abstinence this week because S.Joseph's feast (really it's a solemnity) so I'll be going to the Proper place™ to get a Proper Steak™.

A Feline hymn, Part I
My sources must remain anonymous*, but here's the lyrics, which can be sung to the tune "Rockingham." (Or This.)
When I take rest upon my bed
And lie in wait til dawn of day
The dark of night about my head
Till dawneth morning's piercing ray
A nightly visit I receive
The guest so small and ever bright
whose visit causeth me to grieve
That sleep's embrace should leave before light
My little one doth come and cry
across the hill,outside our wall
Through cloak of night sendeth his sigh
That I should rise and hear his call
Though it be late, yea early right
he crieth that I may be wooed
To rise and grant the gift he likes
A bowl o'erfowing with kitty food
Should I ignore his cries and keep,
My comfort in sleep's sweet embrace:
he will not fear displeasure to shew,
by noise and clamour till I weep.
And raising from my weary rest,
Should fill his dish with danties fair,
and keep the vigil with my guest
till full, he sleep, in silence rare.
Let not his innocence deceive,
for he in want doth freely annoy,
by meows, and growls, and taketh his leave
only when food fulfills his joy.
In night, fear not when rings the crash
for theif and robber here are not,
The hungry feline now doth dash,
about the house and things doth knock.
O grant us Lord, who keep a cat,
thy stedfast patience while we rest:
that they whose care we daily keep
May prove us patient until death
Praise we the Triune Deity,
ruling the Orb in all his ways,
who grants his creatures surety
of food from owner all his days.
I just can't figure out why this was'nt in the English language edition of the Liturgy of the hours.
*For now at least.

And also,
This.
Which I've only watched twice, but I love it.That show is old, and I remeber watching re-runs when I was little. And I love Link, not just for that show and the games, but also because of X-play's ong-running Drunk Link sketches.I can't find any of those online, but just watch X-Play on G4 and eventualy you'll see them.
And now,If you'll excuse me* I'll go take my Ritalin.
*Princess.

And also,
THIS.
Which would have been useful to me when I was trying to learn how to play This. It's deceptive, because it sounds simple, but then you see the music and the fingering and the great big stretches you need to be able to do to get the chords down. And I can stretch over an octave and I still couldn't play it well.

I wonder what they'll say to me though?

At my last weekend with the brothers, we were getting dinner at a mall after the Walk for Life, and some of the kids* asked them the question they (rather obviously) always get: "Hey, are you guys the Ku Klux Klan?" I guess it comes with the habit: an outward sign of your religious vocation, and being constantly mistaken for the KKK. And I was there when they said it. Me, an obviously not white person. Me, an obviously Black person. And they still asked. I was joking with the brothers that we should have said "This is the new, more inclusive organisation. We're more liberal and fair."
So when, God willing, I make my vows and receive a habit, what are they going to say to me? I'm obviously not in the KKK. I assume they'll think that I'm muslim, since there are no less than three mosques in the neighborhood, and many of the muslims guys where white as well as black. I'll have facial hair by then, so It'll just complete the look.
And won't that be awkward. Mistaking someone who belongs to this order to be a Muslim. Irony of Ironies!
*Those were some, uh, Interesting kids. Yeah, interesting is the word I'll use. I'm generally not afraid of people wearing goth/punk clothes, 'cause they're for the most part suburban posers who've not been immerssed in the actual culture. But these people, they were scary.

*Insert Yu-gi-Oh! reference here*
Still not done with the race card.
"The Democrats have become like the "Church Lady" on Saturday Night Live "Could it be ... Racism?" The joke goes that the charge of racism is used anytime a liberal is loosing an argument, unfortunately this is way too accurate. The race card has become like the boy who cried wolf which undermines when there is actually the evil of racism. You can impugn the judicial capability and intelligence of Justice Thomas all day long - just don't dare oppose a Democrat who just happens to be black."Rather like religious fundamentalists and the waning years of the Bush administration, the democrats have become a caricature of themselves. I wish I could chalk it up to reactionary ultra-conservatives, as they pretend most criticism of them comes from, but the daily blunders, rash speech, bad manners, and illogical arguments that the left (especially those in the Obama administration) make so that rather than watching an episode of Eyshield 21,I'd rather watch C-SPAN just teh lulz.

LULZ.
On Prom kings who refuse to dance:
"Heavy lies the head the wears the plastic crown. A monarch who does not fulfill his royal duties risks a coup d'état or a peasant uprising. How many prom kings have to be overthrown and replaced with prom liberal democracies before this lesson is learned?"

Yet another reason to like Stephen Colbert:
Reason number 9.
And can someone tell me why anyone listens to Doug Kmiec? he's a r'tard and does'nt deserve the time to be listened to by any thinking person. There are a thousand things you could do with your time that are more productive. Like cleaning your fingernails, or trying to figure out if it's possible to sneeze with your eyes open.

It's the Stupidest thing I've ever heard!
But I can't stop playing it over and over again: Kyrie, Mass 'Cantus Missae' in Eb, Josef Rheinberger.
I think I need help.
I think I need help.
