Guess what!
Wow shock! Apparently after snubbing the Brits, giving horrible and vain gifts, greeting heads of nations with undue respect (Then denying it), and then there was thing with the Pope, he still hasn't learned basic diplomacy.
Isn't it common courtesy to have lunch with someone who's giving you a gift when they invite you, let alone a head of state who's giving you a prestigious award? He's snubbed the very people who are giving him the award in the first place by canceling dinner with the prize Committee. And it gets worse: He's even looked down on an exhibition in his own honour.
This really isn't a surprise. The American people voted in someone who they knew didn't have the experience to be president, something that was shown within the first months of his presidency when he began recapitulating the failed government and military expansions and overspending of the Bush era with extreme prejudice. One would hope that he might akcnowlege that he hasn't really earned a prize for peace (Something the nation will acknowledge for him.) Indeed,if anything, He's demerited it by his policies .
But I suppose he's got some super-secret really good reason for accepting it.

No really, it's for the best.

" Yes sir, it's for the best. At this age, your body is breaking down, and it becomes harder for you to function daily. Why die in a semi-conscious state, hooked up to machines, with no ability to prepare for your own death. Would'nt you like to die with the dignity you deserve? You've earned better by handing us all your cash and hard work all these years. However, since you've retired, you haven't really contributed to the society. You've become a bit of a drain on the state and your family, and you don't really have any use to the state anymore. But do realise, we aren't killing you off only because you're useless to us. I'm sure someone somewhere has "compassion' or however those people say it.
Thank your for your patience, and have a pleasant day. Please enjoy the complimentary buffet before entering the extermination chamber."
Isn't Obamacare great? It's got a low price, (Only a few trillion dollars. If we can survive with a huge national debt for 20 years, we can add a few more years worth.) It contributes to the market, (Nothing like outlawing private insurance to stimulate competition between public and private insurance.) It creates jobs, (Eventually due to lack of patrons, private insurance companies could collapse, meaning that hundreds if not thousands of Americans could get new jobs working for the government. They'd just have to lose their current job first) And it simply works so well! Look at the benefits! And to top it off, they even have the compassion to end your life for you when you're useless to the state- I mean, suffering in old age!
I se a great future for this.

Let's apply this thinking to real life.
There's a man, let's call him Simon. Simon is a partner in a company that makes metal die-cast model cars, is known to be a spendthrift, but usually stays within his means. Simon soon becomes and avid collector of those model cars, and urged by the president of the company, he soon begins to spend more than he makes in order to collect them. In order to deal with his debt, takes out loans that he can't pay. Debt upon debt keeps piling on him, while at the same time, the value of his die-cast cars is dropping.
The value is dropping because due to protests made by concerned mothers, the cars are made out of cheaper materials that contain lead rather than the more expensive materials formerly used. Simon and other collectors threaten the company with lawsuits, boycotts, and reporting them to the government for using toxic materials. They go back to the former materials. Simon is not satisfied, however, and fights his way to the presidency of the company. Simon buys more and more cars, and his debt rises. he cuts paychecks to pay for his debt, and loses, workers. Production slows, the cars become more expensive to produce, and sell less.
Finally, Simon forces his two sons to mortgage their homes and dips into his daughter's college fund for a last minute shot of new cash into the company, which he plans to spend quickly on company-related pet-projects. After six months of no upturn, he plans to coerce his youngest nephew into mortgaging his home so that he can continue the same cycle he's been in for years: Spend more than he has, make debt, borrow money to pay debt, make more debt, threaten to put others into debt, take their money and spend it, causing more debt, followed by more borrowing, debt, borrow, debt, borrow, debt, etc, ad infinitum.
This seems to be Obamanomics.

I'm stealing this.

From here.
Kind of an addendum to my last post on Cap and Tax.
You know what's weird? One of those dark states is Pennsylvania. Wait, I live in Pennsylvania. And my uncles live in coal country. That's odd. It's almost as if we're going to lose money due to wealth-throwing-away- I mean, Redistribution.
But that's not possible. The government is here to save us, right? That's why they're taking all our money and bankrupting our most lucrative industry. It's only seemingly negative. But don't let your eyes deceive you, just listen to the government. Good, I needed that reassurance.

Creeping Socialism.
Again, I called it last summer (Man, I'm on a roll here)
As many others predicted and as has been shown to us in recent months the Obama cabinet runs more like a smug psedo-socialist political scheme than a presidency. Some of us have grown tired with their apprent idea that simply waying "We won" with a smile on your face is an itellient response to politicians of other parties, former presidents included, who criticise their actions, as if winning the presidencey were some kind of blanket validation of their practices. But I digress.
My real point is that I can't agree with the logic for the massive spendind and wealth redistribution we've bene seeing and hearing about.
This is said logic:
It is the government's job to protect the livelihood of it's citizens*. In a sense, the government has a duty to provide for the needs of it's citizens, and they have a right to be provided for. Therefore, wealth redistribution for the sake of advancing the goal of protecting livelihood is justified, because it must be done for the government to accomplish what's basically a right. While there is truth to this, this innocent statement usually dovetails into some sort of validation for state controlled healthcare or laws made to protect citizens' health. This, I think, is because the statement that they leave out where I've put the asterisk is "Whether they want it or not"
The whole thing is better summed up here.

What? he's like Who Now?
Oh, he's like God. I did'nt catch it the first time, sorry. Without being a prophet of doom and a megalomaniac. is it okay if I remind you all that I called this somtime last fall?
Now, I could try to be objective and say that it's all just a mistaken idea based on poorly chosen words, and I'll accept that, but either way, it's a little much to say that this man, however important he may be, is like God. But then again, considering his moves for big government and constant government intrusion on the private sector, he could be likened to a verison of the hyper calvinist deity: always intruding on every little bit of everyone's life to make sure that everything goes exactly the way he wants it to be, so there are not real trangressions of his law.*
*This is a political post, so yes, I will exaggerate theology to make a point.

Don't worry, he Assures us..
Yay for our president's transparency! What, do they think we're retarded? There's a VIDEO. We can SEE it. It's a BOW. What's up with the "Don't believe your eyes and your common sense! Just beleive what we tell you to believe!!1!!!11!111!!!!!!one!!1!" ? I thought they had planned to eschew this kind of ridiculous doublespeak?
Explaining why he bowed, I can deal with. Saying it didn't even happen when there's videos all over the web, deplorable.
And about their supposed explanation, how come no one ever bows to me? I've already reached the family height* of 5'4, and will probably not grow any taller.Does this mean that I can expect other people to bow to me?
(Taken from Gem.)
*Seriously, on both sides of my family, only five people are taller than 5'5. Everyone else is short.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
"CNN is now claiming that we will have to purchase HBO in order to see the concert because the new president sold the broadcast rights for 5 million dollars. I thought that all the artists were donating their time."
Verification:
“2:30 pm/ET: HBO presents We Are One, a star-studded celebration on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. BeyoncĂ©, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Steve Carell and Jamie Foxx are among the well-wishing celebs expected to be on hand to perform and read historical passages.
7 pm, ET/PT and 11:30 pm, ET/PT: The show will be rebroadcast to cable and satellite subscribers as an open feed.”
TV Guide On-line
"I thought he was going to be the president of all people not just those with money!"
"That is just great! So a live feed for those that have the money to purchase HBO and regular folk have to wait. I have never heard of any other president pulling something like this. So are those with money going to get special favors from this president? I thought there was going to be change we could believe in."
"It turns out that only half of America will have access to this live concert because Obama wanted to make 5 million dollars. And a lot of this 50% - the poor and middle class voted for him."
HEHEHEEHAHAA!!!
They LOST. FAIL. He's not change, if his throwbacks from the Clinton era passed them by. He's showing his true colors, preference for the Liberal Socialist elite, and they're all shocked and appalled. It's wrong, I know, I'm praying for the president and those who supported him, but how could they be so oblivious? It's only funny because they're shocked at the obvious.
This is the kicker:
"We hired Obama to lead us, not entertain us."
To which I can only say....
You could have fooled me, with all the talk about his looks, how he talks, his speeches, and the general cult of personality he has. He's a celbrity. Celebrities entertain.
