EPIC AWESOMENESS.
(Click for full size, In case you want to know why Thor should be muc better than Ironman, considering it has a better premise.)Anyway, I saw a preview for this movie (The long awaited Thor movie) yesterday and I was so excited I wanted to hit someone, only my only options were my fellow postulant and an angry looking man and his girlfriend to the right, so I thought that that might not be a good idea. I kind of value being alive and all that. I did do my happy dance interiorly though. (Obviously, I wouldn't do it. It's against decorum for soon-to-be religious to dance.)
Well, anyway, I'll probably not get to see this movie, even though I was one of those weird fanboys that was circulating and discussing rumours about this online back when the second Ironman movie was still in prodution. Part of me wants there to be a Green Arrow movie too, but he's probably not considered popular enough to have his own.
Oh yes, for your entertainment, I have another image to share:

I hate it when this happens.

When I stop reading a comic/manga series for a long time, and come back to it only to find that it's jumped far ahead of where I last left off with it. I'll jappily admit that I don't get to read comics as much as a like. You would think that I would, since they're much cheaper than manga, even cheaper than Shonen Jump. But the local stores are pretty far out of the way, and I don't have a car. Also, manga can be read for free online. Comics are involved in so many copyrights and licenses that that's totally impossible. Anyway, I really want to start reading Green Arrow. I've never really read his comic, I only looked him up when he showed up in other series I was reading. I have'nt the slightest idea where to start since, unlike manga, comics usually have multiple story arcs and hundreds of volumes, which can make it difficult to pick a starting issue.Pick too far ahead and you'll miss lots of backstory and information. Pick too far back, and the current arc will get too far ahead of you.
So I'll just ask Gaia or see if anyone will give me a reccomendation.
Also, I really love the covers that some of these recent volumes have. I haven't seen the insides, but the covers are wonderful. My post image was a toss up between that one and This. I only picked the one I used because that one is a little violent, what with the blood and wounds, and the arrow sticking out of the corpse's forehead. I think it's an awesome and very well done cover though.

The Thor Trailer.

It is out. People who were luck,y enough to go to ComicCon saw it, the rest of us peons were deprived.
Until Now.
ASDFGHJKLASDFGHJKLASDFGHJKL WOW! I'm glad they picked an easy arc. Unfortunately, if the CG graphics are anything like those in the trailer, they're a little subpar, and I'm not a fan. And I lovw how accurate Loki's costume is.

Well,today,
After the rather unfortunate Altar Server's mass, I went to borders, and you won't believe what I found: Besides an issue of Thor that I've been looking for, no less than FOUR different issues of Hawkeye.Sadly, I'd brought no money with me, so I had to leave them. But yeah, tomorrow after I run a few errands, I'm going to Fat Jack's, where my friend at school gets his comics.(Even though I think Atomic City has a better selection of back issues.)

SCORE!

(Click for full size)This is my desktop's new wallpaper. It's Hawkeye. (This is from the cover of issue #5 of the Dark Reign story arc.) I really would love to read more that has him in it, but with Border's Express closed, I can't get comics unless I go to one of Philly's comic stores and risk looking like a noob.*
*Again. *Sigh*

Why Marvel, why?
Why couldn't you just be a normal, non-partisan comic book? Why do you have to insult people? Why get political? A good question is, why this? Any idiot knows that Captain America was made explicitly for the reason to fight against socialism. Why suddenly make him pro-socialist? Do they think that we're so dumb as to totally forget his past and just see the new, improved, re-born Captain America? And I was always the staunchest Marvel fan. Now you've gone and done this to me. Why Marvel, why?
Maybe since Stan Lee started doing Japanese manga, this is their way of lashing out? (Stan Lee has a new manga that he's writing with Hiroyuki Takei, the writer/artist of Shaman King. It's called Karakuridoji Ultimo.Look it up, it's okay. The coloring is amazing though.)

Wow, I have'nt looked at this in a long while.
The comic I drew for a senior scripture study project. It's never been inked, only done in pencil, it was'nt cleaned, I did'nt draw a cover, and there's no screentone. But it's okay.

I'd like to finish it, but the teacher loved it so much that he asked to keep it as an example of wht kind of recreation it's possible to do. I was touched, but reluctant to let it go. I never give people the originals of my work, I let them have a printed copy, but he wouldn't settle for anything less than the original. So I scanned those up quick at school and said goobye to my beloved manuscript.

Anime/Manga/Comic news.
*Drool drool drool*
OOfuri has FINALLY been licensed in the U.S.! The English title is "Big Swing!", which I assume roughly correlates to the series' full Japanese title. Volumes one and two are at the FYE at the Gallery, but at $60 each, it's out of the question. And don't you DARE go out and buy it from me! I'm saving up for it, and if it's gone, I'll find you and deal with the situation, um shall I say Expediently.
I really, really want to find out more about Dokaben. It's a little old, but I like the art. I don't know if it's been scanlated anywhere, but I hope so. I'm not totally sure what it's about.
And due to my computer crisis, I've missed up the release dates of basically every manga volume I want. I know Noora is at volume eight, and I think Fairy Tail volume seven got released somewheres in October.
Lastly,I've fallen in love with American comics again. I thought I was done with them, but I'm addicted to Teen Titans and Thor. I'm still too afraid to actually visit a comic shop, but perhaps someday, I'll work up the gumption to go buy one of the volumes I'm currently drooling over.

Still no luck.

Still no luck finding any information about volumes 2-4 of Toto! The Wonderful Adventure. It's gone. My only choices are:
1) Go buy it back in New York
2)Go buy it in Allentown
3)Keep looking for a reasonable price online
4)Never buy it and be condemnned to forever live without understanding the story.
Also, Border's express at the Gallery (Of all places) has some of the earlier volumes of the mighty Thor (I can't rember which, I only skimmed it. I DO remeber that it involved Thor and Loki on a ship, impending death from pillars/dragons, and Loki getting kidnapped.) They also have some volumes of Teen Titans (Which I can't find ANYWHERE in this city, unless I'm willing to go to North Philly, which I'm not.) I'm serious.
In a bookshop.
In a mall.
They're there.
Still can't find any volumes of Green Arrow anywhere besides Atomic City. *Sigh*

Yaaaaay.......

There was a song from a movie I was going to put here, but I forgot it. Darn Alzheimer's.
Anyway, it's my 19th birthday today, and this year, and good news is that I'm not spending in the hospital! Bad news is that my dad is! Irony of ironies , huh?
I've got a good amount of birthday money, and I should be going downtown later today. I need to replace that marker that dried up, and get another pack of manga paper. I wish Blick carried Deleter, but I think you can only get that by import, so it's out of the question. I might go to Atomic City to pick up some back issues of something I've been reading. Fat Jack's definitely has a better selection, but I only read about four western comics, so I'm not knowledgeable enough to go there. It'd be wrong.
And speaking of comics, I read volume six of Fairytail, but without reading volume five. Stupid, I know. I'd read it on Onemanga, but I don't know which chapter I left off on. I also don't know what chapter I last read in Eyesheild 21. I know it was volume 24 that I last read. Lastly, I'll stop by Borders and see if they have the volume of Kateikyo Hitman Reborn where Ryoei first showed up. This one is the opposite of wat I usually know, because I know he shows up in chapter 14 but I don't know what volume that is. Random: There are very few good free wallpapers for my* computer.
*Technically my dad's computer, but he does'nt know I'm using it.

NOOOOOO!!!!!

I just died quite a bit inside.
I hope, I really, really hope that they don't ruin any of the series. I can't see a company like Disney putting out something like, oh say, The Trial of Thor or Deadpool. I'll grant that they probably won't make major cuts or changes to storylines, but if they do go ahead with any of the movies that Marvel was going to make, they're going to bastardise them beyond recognition. ( Thor isn't exactly PG-rated, you know.) I can see all of Marvel's characters, or at least the more famous ones being pimped to death in one of Disney's many over-expensive, craptastic theme parks. Oh, and that above is'nt how I'm feeling about this.
What I'm feeling is more akin to THIS.
At least this reminded me what I can spend my birthday money on.

I'm back.
*Looks round menacingly*
The internet is fixed now, so I'll be getting back into the Political-religious blogosphere loop.
New York was....Interesting.
The room we booked wasn't the one we thought we booked. It was four people in a three bed apartment, and guess who got the floor? Yup, it was yours truly. Saturday I was up early and stopped by the grocery store to get milk for breakfast and got stopped by a man asking me to sign a petition about Obamacare.I literally and purposely laughed out loud to spite him, mea culpa. But was funny and unexpected. There's actually young, educated kids from the ghetto, and they don't support Obama? That can't be real! it's a lie put out by the Republicons! Come on, a certain politician (whose name escapes me at the moment) assures us that All black people support Obama.
I also bought a chronicle of medieval religious life, mostly stories, visitations, sermons and private letters. It was only three dollars.
My mom and brother made me late for the presentation from my possible college for next year. I got my art reveiwed and he did'nt like it. Oh well, a pox on all o' his houses etc.
We went for lunch, browsed the souvenir shops, and went to Midtown Comics where I spent three hours nerding out over the vast collection of possible buys. I ended up buying Thor#1 and Toto!#5
There were a whole bunch of others I wanted to buy (Avengers #3, G.I. Joe: The rise of Cobra #2, 666 Satan#11, and some series I've never seen.) On the way back there was some guy who was naked except for a towel giving away flyers for a bar or something.
I cooked dinner for everyone, but I did'nt eat much. I was going to the famed Our Saviour on Sunday, and I was preparing. Unfortunately, I did'nt get to go. My mom dropped a boatload of excuses why I could'nt go, but the real reason was that she wanted to check out early and me going to mass would hold them up.
Now, I'm going to read my subcribed and sidelinked blogs to catch up.
Oh yeah! I see I got an 11th watcher while I was out. Hi! thanks for following me!
