Proposed Renovations.

Since the Cathedral in Philadelphia is renovating the orga, I thought I might suggest a few things, just as a note, First of all, undo everything Moller did, including the re-voicing of the pipes. Either get it back to Austin;s original things, or call in another company to get a more classical sound. ( Preferrably neither Dobson or Casavant Freres.) Second, don;t get rid of the tab console. They're very rare, especially consoles by Austin. (They were prone to breaking down early in life.) And keep the same stop and key action, though obviously,restore it to original working function. Third , put most of the reeds under higher pressure. It's the high wind pressure that gives reeds thier clearness and brilliance. Considering the size of the church, the en chamades and pedal reeds are a supreme disappointment. Fourth, if possible, either move the antiphonale to the back of the chancel, or at least install a nice solo reed there. (Possibly a chamade!) That said, I would propose these as a modified stoplist.
